was realized for the Timisoara architecture biennale, under the motto: "in practice - as opposed to in theory"
Maintenance was more than due on the building, over time it lost its connection to the city and the public. We made both visible by replacing broken windows on the repetitive south facade, by producing glass panes and capturing the adjacent ex-botanical garden through cyanotype prints on a biodegradable coating. With the help of local volunteers and a workshop, the repair, the site and the process is rendered legible, exposed to the cycles of weather and time.
The repair within a short timeframe taught us about the hidden sequences and cycles of procedural work, about the uncertainty and suprising stubbornness of old buildings, and about information, communication and improvisation on a project that could only be designed during production in situ.
brings together Anton Wolff from Germany, Maya Eddegdougui from Morocco and Florindo Ferrari from Switzerland. They met while studying at the Politecnico di Milano. Their work explores methods of shaping space without adding new material or removing what is still useful.
